Josh Azouz - Playwright

​

Josh Azouz is an award-winning writer working across stage, screen and radio. Plays include: Once Upon A Time in Nazi Occupied Tunisia (Almeida Theatre), The Night After  (Headlong / BBC 4), The Mikvah Project  (Orange Tree Theatre & Radio 4), Buggy Baby  (Yard Theatre), Victoria’s Knickers  (Soho Theatre) & 10,000 Smarties  (Old Fire station, Oxford).  In 2019, Josh won a channel 4 playwright award for Buggy Baby and spent a year on attachment at Headlong.  Previously he was on attachment at the National Theatre studio. Josh recently co-wrote an episode for The Box, a new supernatural thriller starring Anna Friel and is developing an original series entitled Loop De Loop with Big Talk. In 2018, Josh was invited onto the BBC Writers Drama room programme. He has been an associate artist at The Yard theatre and MUJU (Muslim-Jewish theatre company).

Caley Chase (she/her) - Director

 

Caley Chase is a first-year MFA Directing candidate at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to moving to Austin, Caley made work in NYC & Boston with companies such as the Huntington Theatre Company, American Repertory Theatre, Trinity Rep, Shakespeare & Company, Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Speakeasy Stage Company, Fresh Ink Theatre, Fort Point Theatre Channel, Breaking & Entering Theatre, Harvard Playwrights’ Festival, among others. Caley is the former Artistic Associate at the Huntington Theatre Company. B.A: Brandeis University www.caleychase.com

Oren Ederi (he/they) - Actor: Eitan

 

Oren Ederi is a 20 year old theatre artist and musician from Plano,Tx. He is best known for his single "Thunderstorms" on Spotify, but has also been performing and creating theatre since high school. The Mikvah Project is Oren's first show at UT after transferring from the Chicago College of the Performing Arts, and he is very excited to continue to take part in the UT artistic community as he works on his BA in Theatre and Dance.

Andrew Solis (he/him) - Actor: Avi

 

Andrew Solis is 22-year old actor/fight choreographer.  He has choreographed over five shows. Shows including Titus Andronicus and The Alchemist. He has performed in shows such as The Game's Afoot, Cinderella Waltz and Eurydice. Andrew is currently a fifth year and is looking to further add to his acting resume. The Mikvah project is an amazing show that Andrew has loved working on from the moment he started. He hopes to continue working on his craft as an Actor to put on plays for audiences to enjoy.

Michelle Ferguson (they/she) - Stage Manager

 

Michelle Ferguson is a first-year BFA student in the UTeach Theatre Education program. This is their second project as Stage Manager here at UT Austin, previously stage managing 9/10 Beds, and is very excited to be part of The Mikvah Project production team! Michelle would like to thank Caley for electing them for this project and the cast Oren and Andrew for their amazing work on the show. Thank you for coming and enjoy!

Tenzing Ortega (he/him) - Scenic Designer

 

Tenzing Ortega was born and raised in Mexico City where he has designed lights and scenography for over 100 plays. He holds a B.F.A. in Escenografía from the National School of Theater Arts (ENAT) in Mexico City. He is currently in his first year as an M.F.A. in Theatre (scenic design) candidate at The University of Texas in Austin.

Zach Young (he/him) - Lighting Designer

 

Zach Young (Lighting Designer) is an M.F.A student in Live Design & Production. He graduated
his undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin Parkside. Zach recently came from
PCPA – Pacific Conservatory Theatre where he was the Technical Director and part time Faculty.
He has recently designed three dance pieces in Fall for Dance as well.

"Growth" and "Avinu Malkeinu" are both recorded by Oren.
